If I had a hammer...
I don't need a hammer, I've got a good carpenter. Bruce put in a long day yesterday building these shelves in the chilly garage (he brought a propane space heater to bring it up to a balmy 50 degrees).
I always have an idea in my head of what I want these things to look like; the idea doesn't always translate. This one however, exceeds my vision.
The bottom cupboard is custom designed to hold a small microwave on the right. The slot below will hold a pull-out shelf for resting dishes going in and out. The two left cubbies are sized specifically for the toaster on the bottom, and the food processor on the top. The shelf over the microwave will hold the blender, steamer, and cereal dispensers.
The other shelf is designed to hold eight dinner plates between the dowels, with bowls going in the shelves at the end. The other part is a shelf that will be supported by a decorative support that will hold the coffee pot and mug tree. Glassses and salad plates will go on the shelf above the plates. I have two chrome racks that hold wine glasses that will be mounted above the coffee pot.
Today the shelves will get stained to match the cabinets.
